Week 30: Dad's Guide
Third Trimester • Baby is the size of a a basketball
👶 Baby Update
Size: A basketball
Baby's bone marrow has taken over red blood cell production. Baby is practicing breathing movements. About 3 pounds now and running out of room — you'll see elbows and knees poking out.
💕 What She's Going Through
Fatigue returns with a vengeance. Heartburn at its worst. She may have trouble bending over. Feet and ankles swollen, especially by evening. Mood swings resurface.
💪 What You Should Do This Week
- ✓Help her with shoes and anything that requires bending
- ✓Make freezer meals — cook double batches and freeze them for postpartum
- ✓Finalize the nursery — everything should be in place by week 36
🚫 Don't Say This
“You're tired? You haven't done anything.”
Growing a 3-pound human while carrying extra blood, fluid, and weight IS doing something. All day. Every day.
🛒 Gear Tip
Start your freezer meal prep. Casseroles, soups, burritos — anything that reheats well. You'll thank yourself later.
🧠 Dad Hack
Cook 5 freezer meals this weekend. Just 5. Each one feeds you for a postpartum dinner. Future you will be SO grateful.
